About Dune Box:
Wood Species:
Ziricote: A precious brown
wood from Mexico.
Atlantic Jarrah: A red, hard
wood from South Africa / Australia.
Materials Used:
Main structure: Composed
of medium wood panels.
Top: Features 13 layers of veneers.
Sides: Covered with veneer
of 9 to 10 mm thickness.
Decorative Elements: Marquetry
in nickel silver; Logo combining
silver and enamel.
Craftsmanship Process:
The Dune Box was crafted using traditional cabinet-making techniques, some of which are at risk of being lost.
The wooden structure, after being meticulously cut and assembled, was adorned with a thin layer of veneer. The marquetry, decorating the front of the box, was intricately cut element by element and then inlaid into the veneer.
The silver logo on the bottom side was incorporated using a similar meticulous process. To ensure a flawless finish, the entire piece was finely sanded and coated with a thin layer of wax.

The Dune Box, along with its protective wooden case, represents over 40 hours of dedicated craftsmanship by the in-house Master of Art at Ateliers SP.
